Employee Spotlight - Hospitality Experience Coordinator, Brittany

For the past 45+ years, our team of local and knowledgeable employees has had its hand in shaping this small, family-owned business into the trusted company it is today. This year, we want to take the time to introduce you to our incredible staff. They work behind the scenes to ensure that you have the best vacation experience possible, but it's time to find out a little more about who they are in and out of the office. 

Today, we would like to introduce someone you may have met when checking in for your stay - Brittany! She is our wonderful Hospitality Experience Coordinator and greets each guest when they arrive on the island. We recently had the opportunity to sit down and get to know her a little better.

I have been here for almost a year now, although it feels like much longer!

I am a Hospitality Experience Coordinator. 

It is a very busy job! I get to greet our customers daily as they check in and out as well as help them navigate the island. I set up beach chair rentals and bike rentals, and I put together the welcome packets and other materials that guests receive at check-in. I communicate with our wonderful team of property managers and our in-house maintenance department to ensure that we are effectively communicating and meeting guests' needs in a timely matter so they can get back to enjoying their stay.

I get to meet so many wonderful people from all over the country and hear about where they come from and their experiences with us.

I am originally from Upstate New York but my family moved down here a few years ago. I live nearby in Mount Pleasant and after visiting IOP so many times, it made sense to make the move!

I love to be outdoors - one of my favorite things to do is read at the beach on Sullivans Island! I also enjoy spending time with friends and family (especially when we are checking out new eateries/restaurants) and just traveling in general. 

For food, definitely the Obstinate Daughter. For the best ocean views, Sullivan's Island!

I have never felt more welcomed into a new role than when I started at Island Realty. I strive to take on new opportunities- especially if they are out of my comfort zone. Since day one, everyone in the office has made me feel like I made the right decision!

That is such a tough question as we have so many beautiful properties on the ocean! 804 Ocean Blvd. was one of the first properties I got a chance to visit when I started working here so it has a special place in my heart. Wherever you are in the house, the ocean is right outside the window!
