This house was one of the best I have stayed at in years. It has tons of character with shells, toys, knick knacks to look at in every corner of the home. It feels large and has plenty of space upstairs and down. The yard is huge and the neighborhood is quiet. Kitchen is massive and has everything you need. They put the linens on the bed for you, plenty of towels, and the cleanest beach house I have ever rented. No sand on floors which I have never seen before. Company checks on you throughout week which I am not used to experiencing and was very nice touch.

If you are a dad of small kids like me, the hike with 100 lbs of gear on a beach cart isnt hard, but gets a little long day after day.
Air conditioner struggles some once it gets HOT, but otherwise cools the place down at night and throughout the morning and early afternoon. No outdoor shower but the hose works fine. Furniture old, but beds are comfortable.

We love the old home. It is comfortable and in an excellent location. Also it is affordable. The important things are clean, the rest is dirty and uncared for. We called maintenance for many lightbulbs, a clean shower curtain and no heat because no one filled the propane tank The maintenance guy, Tyler? was fantastic: kind, understanding, efficient and knowledgeable. The woman who mowed the yard was unbelievably hard working and did an excellent job.

We adored the character of this home, thoughtful details throughout and very well appointed kitchen. Walking distance to the beach and the hub of Sullivan’s Island. It is not modern, but we adored the charm and location. The set up is unique, but was perfect for our teens who took the bottom floor and adults enjoyed the upstairs. We’d all convene on the porches or dinner table. We absolutely stay again.

This 1900 home was very comfortable for the 9 of us. Comfortable beds, plenty of room to spread out, nice large dining table, huge kitchen, wonderful large screened in porch, plenty of parking. With only 2 bathrooms an outdoor shower would've been nice. Would definitely stay here again.

As other reviews stated, there are a LOT of shells & nicknacks in the house as well as drawers, shelves, and cupboards full of random stuff, which means there is less room for stuff you bring. It all does contribute to a feeling of genuine island charm, and the funkiness of the house layout added to the experience. The space was clean and so fantastically close to the beach. The beach access was ideal-- a mini jaunt through wetlands on a beautiful boardwalk. Also, so close to restaurants. We found the air conditioning worked great and loved the screened in porch. If you are sensitive to mildew or worry about relaxing on heavily used furniture, this might not be the place for you, but the casual vibe was just what our group needed.

Our stay at this rental beach house was excellent. The rustic look inside the home truly outweighs the outside look. Very nice, but a little cluttered in side the home. The locks on the front and back doors were very sticky and had a hard time trying to lock and unlock the doors. On the last day the dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen floor during its operation. Had to call maintenance up to fix the issue. Other then those two trivial issues, the location of this home was perfect in conjunction with the beach and the amenities of the town. Beach was in walking distance and all necessities the town offers were a short distance away.

Overall, the house had lots of character. We loved the charming feel. However, the AC struggled all week to keep up with cooling the house. We decided on Sullivan's Island because of the beautiful beach area. However, the town had a "no chairs or tents" in place for the beaches. That put a damper on our plans. But we were able to pack up and go to the IOP area which did allow them.

We used the upper floor of this small, cute cottage. It was very clean and decorated nicely. Some of the porch pillows were grungy and should be replaced, however, the screened porch was a glorious place to hang out.The nearest beach entrance was underwater most of our stay, however, we had a nice stroll to the boardwalk at #26 to enter the beach area. We very much enjoyed the curbside pick-up at Obstinate Daughter, but avoided Poe's Tavern due to the crowd of unmasked patrons. .

This beach house is indeed cozy and rustic. Very comfortable seating inside and on the expansive porch. The kitchen is big and well equipped. The house is very clean. The bottom apartment is like a second beach house and it also is very comfortable and offers additional privacy.

Because of the age of the house, outlets as well as lighting leaves a little to be desired. Also some mattresses could be replaced. Sheets, blankets and pillows very good. Good also were the towels supplied.

As the house is a few blocks from the beach and the restaurants we rented a golf cart and would highly recommend doing the same. We also enjoyed touring Sullivan’s this way.

Definitely plan on booking this house again.

PS. The rental staff was A plus.

We rented this house for our extended family to stay during a wedding at Alhambra. It was the perfect size for us! My only complaint was that it was a bit musty smelling. Location was perfect! Amenities we're just right. Would love to go back when we had more time to enjoy. Would be great for a relaxing vacation. It was wonderful to spend time with family who had traveled from Montana, Michigan, West Virginia and South Carolina!

My family of 10 enjoyed this rental for a week the first of October. For an older home, we were pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. The kitchen is huge and the dining room table was big enough to seat us all. The family room is on the smaller side, but we weren't usually all home at the same time anyway. The screen porch is the best! The house is a quick walk to the beach. We love riding bikes all over the island, eating at Poes and exploring Fort Moultrie. We all love Sullivan's Island and were happy to find this house that was so reasonably priced.

We returned to a house we stayed in quite a few times. Enough that everyone has their own room and knows the ropes of the house. We stayed here first because the price was low and it was big enough to host our big crew of a family. It’s an old house in need of lots of repairs and a good ole southern cleaning but the character keeps us coming back. The front porch is my favorite part of the home and I could sit here for days working puzzles and reading books. Unfortunately there was ALOT of rain and almost every yard on Sullivan’s island was flooded. Many streets and every walkway to the beach. You had to walk through knee to ankle high mud and muck that smelled like sewage to get to the beach which was really gross. But...because of that the beach was almost secluded which I’m sure is unheard of in Nuly at the beach. I had to use my 4x4 to get in the driveway. Overall it was another wonderful, relaxing beach week..and hopefully they will leave the price down and we will keep coming back. Island Realty is wonderful to work with and always quick to respond to any needs.

Relaxing week of fun and sun . The property is definitely older and there are a few things that needed maintenance repairs while we were there but it's adequate and enjoyable. Maintenance came immediately and fixed the problem and they were really nice. The only cons are the key system and having to lock doors with a key and not a lock. That kinda scares me if there was a fire. The front porch is our families favorite place to hang out while we are there.

Our vacation rental experience could not have been better. We were able to make our reservation, pay for it, pick up our keys, enjoy a wonderful week and drop off the keys on our way out of town. I chose this house as a home base for my wedding in Summerville. I loved this house. I plan on staying here again. Unfortunately hurricane Matthew forced us to leave. I've been through hurricanes before and as soon as I knew we were being evacuated I went to get gas as fast as possible. The huge lines had begin and the fighting. I rushed back to the rental and packed my family up in about 15 minutes so we could leave charleston as fast as possible. I was running in and out of this house. I know I left the refrigerator full of food. Sorry!!! I was able to fill up my tank about 30 minutes outside of the city and drive straight home. I felt bad for leaving the house in disarray but I was so relieved to make it out safely. I received a full refund for our stay including the days we stayed at the property. I managed to move my wedding to Atlanta and it was glorious. Thank you so much island reality for being easy to work with and understanding.

Lovely Old South decor; many lovely family and area pictures; comfortable; large, well furnished, bright kitchen; 1950's vintage with small bathrooms; but charming property - so very nice; probabaly one of the last of its kind on the island as economy may well swallow this property in favor of new high end construction so prominant on Sullivan's Island.
Island Realty was very helpful in calling Comcast to
fix internet cable malfunction quickly. Not for all, but we so enjoyed this property!

Great Location, Old house but that is part of the experience. This was our second time staying here and you get what you pay for. For our family it is a great setup. Walk to the beach or the restaurants on Sullivan's. Internet was down but they were responsive in getting it fixed.

My sister and I have rented various SI houses over the past 20 years and invite our siblings,with or without their families, to join us around Christmas. This year we had 4 of 5 sibs and mates come. My family live on SI so a central location is perfect. This house, in particular, is in a perfect location for us and is appointed U fussily...very comfortably.
Management lost some points for simply not responding to some maintenance concerns on the first day of our stay and while my family is from MN and thinks
40's are balmy they still like heat for the mornings and did run out of gas Christmas Eve. Maintenance did not respond until12/26. While it was Christmas time, and people should have time with their families, a courtesy phone call would go a long way. And the propane could be on auto-fill with the propane supplier to avoid running out.

This home is in a great location, convienient to the beach, local restaurtants, Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston. The house is a bit out of date with the decor and could use some updates in the bathrooms and kitchen. The 2 rooms downstairs are only accessable by the outside, so it would be great for 2 families that also wanted to maintain a bit of privacy. Overall it's in decent condition and for the price and location, it is a good deal.
