Everything in house worked including AC unit which is not always the case every where you stay. We would however liked to have had the tv in a better location so that the entire family could see. Overall it was a great experience.

A clean, comfortable house with a well-equipped kitchen.
Our favorite gathering space was the screened-in porch. The upper deck was the perfect spot for late-night star gazing.

The porch hammock should probably be replaced or removed completely. Pull cords were missing from porch fans. Minor issues. We would definitely rent the house for next year’s trip.

This was our first time vacationing at IOP and it was great. Our rental house was perfect for our family (4 adults, 4 children). We loved being beach front. Proximity to stores and Charleston was convenient.

Outdated property. Entire second floor is off limits to guests (used by owners to store junk), but the listing did not disclose this when we booked. The photos on the listing don’t show the grime, rust, ripped screens, and deck chairs made with pvc pipes. Added inconvenience: you will receive physical keys, not a code, which you will have to take to the beach with you and return upon departure.

We apologize that you felt misled by the property's listing as that is definitely not the experience we wish for our guests! We were able to locate your reservation through the survey you submitted directly to our property managers and wanted to touch on a few things. while the roped-off staircase is able to be seen in listing photos (with no photos of the upstairs loft), we hear your concern and have adjusted this property's description to be clearer. The rusted ceiling fan (and the discolored door frame) are located on the outside porch. Due to this unit's wonderful oceanfront location, equipment does naturally rust/discolor when used outside. These types of issues are typically addressed in the off-season when the unit is empty. We strongly encourage you to take a look at the provided virtual tour for each property before booking. This allows you to get a more in-depth view of each corner of the house and lets you walk through and turn/zoom the camera however you wish. In the virtual tour, you are able to see each of the points you brought up and this could have helped manage expectations prior to your stay. We would have loved the opportunity to assist with any maintenance issues you experienced, such as the screen panel that blew out, but unfortunetly, it does not appear that you called our maintenance department at any point during your stay. We take providing an accurate representation of each of our properties very seriously so that guests may best prepare before they arrive. We are sad to hear that you did not feel that this was the case, and will use your review to best prepare for future guests. I decided to take my parents on vacation. I have been to IOP and loved it. We rented this house and it was nice and cozy. We did go through the week so it wouldn’t be so crowded. My only complaint would be that by the weekend we had rowdy neighbors playing loud music and being loud themselves outside. The house is a little outdated but it was roomy and had a nice screened in porch to enjoy the breeze and watching the waves coming in.

We had a great week on this beautiful island. The home we rented had a gorgeous view of the ocean and a huge grassy backyard for my grandchildren to play wiffleball and other sports. The house needs some updating, but it was clean and functional for us. The owners should consider adding a larger television in the main room and some more towels and beach towels. The screened in porch with rocking chairs was delightful. All in all we had a wonderful week at the beach.

Great location as on the ocean. Nice house. Was very clean throughout when we arrived. Appeared to be all new linen which was very nice. One of the older places on the beach; needs just a little TLC. Great screen porch; upper deck needs new furniture; all but one of the upper deck plastic chairs were cracked and too weathered by years of sun and salt. Lovely view from upper deck. Big yard. Beds are not very comfortable...master and really more like cots in other 3. Closets had plenty of hangers but need larger dressers in the bedrooms. Traffic on Palm Blvd is a bit of an issue (noise and safety) and at night as well...constant stream that never ends...but you are on the ocean Enjoyed our stay; family joining us from MA and NY did as well. Island Realty immediately dealt w/ issues like ice maker, dishwasher, toilet. Also they should replace the TV and get cable...even if sparingly used, Visio, streaming service not ideal. I'd also replace the coffee maker. With 8, we'd rent a slightly larger place next time, especially if have younger children. Value for the money was spot on...unfortunately for the IoP, the beach, especially on the ocean, has become a row of McMansions...with multiple new constructions and renovations at a rapid totally unreasonable prices for a month's stay in the off-season. If you are looking for a nice, traditional beach house (not a McMansion or home) on the ocean at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. Children will love it and you are on the end of the beach that gets a bunch of beautiful sea shells!

We loved 3306 Palm Blvd! This oceanfront home was thouroughy enjoyed by my husband who loves to surf, his wife (me) who loves to boogie board, a son, daughter-in-law & three year old daughter (one of our precious granddaughters) who just love to hang out at the beach, swim, dig in the sand! The interior decor is relaxing. The screened-in porch including a hammock was an added bonus! While not a newer home, this home is a true beach cottage. Please don’t expect this oceanfront home to be a brand new build. But who needs that when one can see and hear the tide roll in & out, view the night sky w/o city lights, all without leaving the property?!

We have stayed at 3306 Palm Blvd on many, many occasions over the years.This was by far one of our best trips. The house itself is just perfectly situated to offer optimal beach/ocean viewing. The screen porch ROCKS! Hammock and comfy rocking chair make sitting watching the waves and dunes a top notch experience. Then in the evening when the sun is setting (or early morning) the deck offers a different view of the ocean and surrounding landscape. The addition of the new walkway offers a nice touch as well. We love the fact that this is an old time beach house, not a new frilly modern mansion. The huge dinning room table is comfortable for meals and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking the most elaborate of meals. There’s even a food processor. Best of all, the rental company is making sure the house is CLEAN, which in the past, has not been our experience. It was move in ready on this trip and all appliances worked well. The bathrooms could be updated but they are fine for an old fashioned beach house and were clean and serviceable.Perfect house for 3 couples as we used the fourth bedroom for overflow products, luggage and storage. We were VERY SATISFIED with our stay (although, rental prices have skyrocketed in recent years, argh.)

Our entire family plus our moms loved our stay in the house. The view was spectacular. We spent so much time on the porch looking at the ocean. The house was clean, had all the utensils/plates/cups we needed. It was easy to work with Island Reality to book everything and the tours we took around town that they suggested worked out perfectly (Sandlappers boat tour and Palmetto Horse Carriage). We truly enjoyed staying at this house and would love to come back!

I'm a frequent visitor to Isle of Palm as some family of mine live in the area. I wanted a place to spend Christmas with my daughter and husband coming in from Europe. This house was the perfect fit for us! We had lots of room to spread out, and my family nearby could come and go to visit with us. We felt like it was truly our own for four days. I felt the spirit of the family who own the house and it's clearly full of great beach memories.

The house was super clean, spacious, the bedding is excellent, and the overall layout is great. It's not a fancy "new" home, but that doesn't take away from the benefit of being right on the beach with killer views. The hardwood floors are well maintained, there's a big table for meals, and the kitchen is well stocked for meals/food prep.

The bathroom on the left side (facing water) could use an upgrade, but it would not deter staying again. Maybe adding additional lighting in the living room for the evenings would be helpful. But, no deal breakers for us.

Easy access to the beach; tons of privacy and space. It was perfect for us. Happy memories indeed. Thank you!

3306 Palm Blvd. was in an excellent location with great decks overlooking the beach. The kitchen was well equipped with adequate space and good appliances. The overall layout of the house was good. A few detail improvements are needed. The master bath needs updating with a shower faucet that is temperature compensating. The tub is also slippery. We used the shower in the adjoining bedroom because it had been updated and was safer. The light over the dining room table needs to be repaired. The internet is very slow at a measured download of 10MB/sec. The kitchen cabinets need some hinge repair.

The location of the house is fantastic... the views are awesome and it is great to be that close to the beach. At one time in the life of this house it was fantastic... but has now faded somewhat from lack of maintenance. On the positive side, the bedrooms are very nice and the living room is fantastic ... on the negative side the furniture is well used. On the positive side the house is bright and well lit in the daytime by the wonderful windows... at night it is dark from lack of lighting. The location of the kitchen is very nice and the wide bar and nice kitchen table are excellent... on the negative side the pots/pans/etc... seem to have come from kmart a decade ago.

overall we had a great time in a great location... the house is worth the price for the view and location... it is just too bad they don’t keep it up.

We stayed in early April 2021 and had a great vacation.
Pros - Great location and easy access. Nice shaded and sun decks. Great hammock for napping. Plenty of room to park. Home is spacious and had reasonable amenities for my family of 5.

Neutral - public access path runs along property edge so there was a lot of foot traffic. I didn't mind but this does reduce you privacy.

Con - The property is showing a some age and one of the showers did not operate properly. I had stayed at this location 3-4 years ago and it seem to have had minimal maintenance since then. Not bad just dated. The frying pan was dented and hard to use but otherwise kitchen equipment were good in good order.

We spent roughly 3 months in this house so our review will be different from those of shorter stays. The location of this house is super, a quick walk to a wonderful part of a wonderful beach and great separation from the houses on either side. You feel as if you are alone. Island Realty was a pleasure to work with (although our agent has moved on). The maintenance department went above and beyond and we can't say enough good things about them.
The house itself is fine. The big screened in porch is great and the unscreened deck has an amazing view. Just understand, it is a beach cottage with no frills - and I mean no frills. The kitchen and the bathrooms are overdue for an upgrade, the deck and stairs need work - lots of splinters and nail heads sticking up. There is very little storage space for groceries, coats, etc. and certain areas are not well cleaned. It is a two-story living room (with an off-limits loft) and the high spots are impossible to get to. Probably most annoying for us was the inadequate lighting. The bedrooms are all fine with good mattresses, the living room is nice but small (plenty big for the two of us but if all bedrooms were full, it would seem crowded, I think. Oh, and if you plan to cook, bring a couple of good knives. Like most rentals, there are no good ones.
All of that said, if you want a simple, well placed spot on the beach, it is great. Plus, I think if you were there for a short period of time, none of the negatives would be an issue.

Overall we had a great time. Plenty of room, lovely large porch and hammock. As I noted when we checked out, the sheets in the master bedroom were not big enough for the mattress and topper and although they were stretched across the very top of the mattress when we arrived, they immediately came loose, and could not be re 'fastened'. We ended up on the mattress pad within 5 mins of going to bed. Also, there were no trash bags anywhere in the house. The kitchen cabinets were adequate, but the doors are in very poor condition.

Good value for the money. Had a lovely stay with family. The house is next to a public beach access which was covenient for us, however the continual trekking of the public through the backyard was noisy at times and of course afforded no privacy. The den of 5 baby coyotes in the backyard brush gave us hours of entertainment. However, I do wander how cute they'll be when fully grown? We had a couple of heavy rains and the backyard flooded just below the knee, which made beach access an adventure going through dark murky water. Although, this did cut down the public access traffic who were not adventuresome enough to go through the dark water. The house itself is well worn. Plumbing in the master bathroom needs repairs, the toilet makes a LOUD noise every time its flushed waking everyone up at night and the shower has weak pressure. Cockroach in the kitchen. I suppose is to be expected in the Lowcountry. Our favorite feature of the house was the observation deck which made amazing nighttime stare gazing and gave the girls privacy for sunbathing. Overall, a nice home, not fancy, needs some updates, but gets the job done.

Very nice house, can't beat the location and the views. Had a little issue with check in, supposed to check in at 4pm, but the cleaning lady did not show up at the house until 4 pm (we had people stationed at the house and at the management company address.) Ended up getting the move in package closer to 6pm which is not good. But on the check out day, cleaning crew showed up at precisely 10 am. We were almost ready, but the crew was very nice and allowed us to finish without any hassle. Screened in porch has not been cleaned before our arrival. but it needed it. Mattresses in the bedroom with two twin beds that shares the bathroom (left side of the house) need to be replaced. These are the only recommendations. Otherwise, great house and location. Met property owners, very nice people. Did not get to use the sun deck much, but the porch with the hammock was a big hit. Yes, public beach access path is along the property, but that was not an issue at all. Two outside showers were very convenient.

Property description was accurate and property was clean and well maintained. Would recommend to a friend. Only issue we had was when booking property we asked about specials or loyalty discount and were told no specials were available, no mention was made about discount. A few days later we asked about discount and were told we had to ask when booking property which we did. When we pointed that out, discount was received. We have booked with Island REalty for many years and would always rate their planners a solid 10 until this year. Planner basically just "did his job" which is fine but a disappointment from years past.

This is the 8th year our family has rented this house, and we love it. For our annual week at the beach, it is the perfect house. The kitchen is large enough for two people to make lunch together. The dining room table is large, so we can eat together, while reserving the end of it for our in-progress puzzles, etc. We spend many hours on the spacious screened porch, where you can read in the hammock or one of the rocking chairs and look out at the ocean. The upper deck is wonderful for star-gazing or watching the sun rise. The beach path is just down the down the back steps. We love that there are still a few ocean-front houses that are affordable for a smallish (5-person) group, and we would much rather have that than the latest luxury in kitchen/bath decor. This year we noticed that the exterior could use a bit of maintenance.

Older home with an amazing view. We got a lot of use out of the decks. We took a telescope for star gazing on the top decks. The hammock was always in use. The kitchen could use some updating and the beach access had a big swamp so we had to go down to the next access but it was passable by the last day. We enjoyed a very relaxing week. Thanks Mayor

Air conditioning was horrible,TV went black, doorknob quit working. With all of this and a neighbor stopping by to leave a gift for the owner, we had 7 people in and out of the house in 6 days!!!!! Not very relaxing!! House is old and needs lots of updates.

A great layout for a group of 6 - 8 people with plenty of communal space and privacy. Great porch and view of water with easy access to beach. 3rd floor deck is fun place to view sunrise and sunset. Everything was perfectly adequate for a great time. Bathrooms could use updating, but everything worked, and we appreciated paying less for a less fancy set up. Great playground a few blocks away. Bike rentals were easy, and enjoyed by most of our group. Location was prime - in a less busy part of the island, but easy to drive anywhere with little fuss. Simple phone call set everything up. Lots of parking for visiting guests. Loved listening to heavy surf and visiting beach in stormy weather.

Grama & Papa had a wonderful week with our children & 3 little grandsons.The big screened in porch with rocking chairs & a hammock were very child friendly, as were the furnishings.Nothing fancy,just a warm Charleston beach house made for families. We did what we like best, playing on the beach with the little ones,looking and listening to the sounds of Coastal Carolina (not college kids on Spring Break!)Went to the Aquarium & Children's Museum for the 1st time, and made repeat visits to Magnolia Garden,Palmetto Park & Fort Moultrie.We ate at Poe's,California Dreaming,The Oyster House,Shem Creek Bar & Grill,The Wreck, Melvin's Bar-B-Q and Magnolia's.We had our Key Lime pie from Simmon's Seafood when we made our shrimp boil.Not enough time to make the Festival of Homes & Gardens.Overall a perfect vacation!

The location is geat but house is need of repairs and upgrades. For what we spent to rent for the week I was disappointed. Also public access to the beach runs through property so there was people constantly walking to and from beach all day. Not very private.

we loved the house but have a few things that you might want to know. Some of the pillows smelled bad and could not be used. I had to buy a mattress cover to put over the very old and pilled one. the house needs a can opener.The refrigerator was difficult to use since there are no shelves on the door.

We had a great time in IOP even with the visit of TS Alberto. The house has a great layout nothing fancy and a little worn. The screen porch is where we sat watching the rain and the waves. The kitchen is fully equipped with new stove and dishwasher but still the original kitchen - could use a Reno. The fridge was old and shelves were broken so that made it hard to store some drinks but we made do. Again cute home, great location, and easy beach access. Great for a long weekend or a week reminded all of us of the beach houses we visited as kids.

This house was perfectly suited for a beach vacation. The outside porch was perfect for rocking and watching the waves. Outside shower made it easy to clean up after a day on the beach. The furnishings were comfortable and sufficient. Kitchen was well stocked.

This spacious home was a great location for our vacation. The house was welcoming and comfortable. All maintenance questions were answered and tended immediately. We loved the screened-in porch and our daughters loved the hammock. The beach access from the back yard was super convenient. Perfect beach stay!
