This is the third time as a family we have stayed here. The units had a freshening up, even though previously they were very nice.
One cabin had a really large issue which management resolved with a full refund.

Cabins were well furnished with kitchen items, plenty of linens and paper products provided.

Easy access to the beach, pair, and pool. We will be back!

Although we would happily use Island Realty again, we would not book this unit. The unit is in need of many repairs and furniture replacements. At the time of our booking, the sleeper sofa was advertised as new but it had multiple stains, was very worn and had a stained slipcover over it which had to be removed in order to use the sleeper sofa. The bar stools are not the correct height for the counter so you are sitting at table level. We learned that the bunk beds can't technically be advertised as they are not up to code, so no ladder is provided to access the top bunk which is impossible for kids under 10 to get into by themselves (linens are also not provided for these bunks) . The front door is lacking weather stripping and there are large gaps allowing you to see outside. The bathroom is also in need of a fresh coat of paint to cover staining and bumps and the floor planks appear to be not professionally installed as there are many cracks and gaps.

This condo was ‘acceptable’ in that it was relatively clean. While it has its ‘pluses’, there are quite a few things we didn’t like. The description of the condo is deceptive. My husband and I took my mother for a long weekend. We were planning to put her on the ‘new sleeper sofa’. The sofa was a far cry from new. The sofa bed was extremely worn and uncomfortable, not to mention dirty. The space was so small, there was barely room to unfold the sofa. There was nowhere to put the coffee table and the bottom of the bed barely cleared the bar. There were two bunks, but no ladder to get to the top one and the mattresses were no good. Dont plan to put anyone other than a tiny child there. The main bedroom had a nice king bed, but there is literally 3” to get around the bed. Good luck getting to the bathroom without crawling across the bed. The foot of the bed is only a few feet from the front door. The bathroom was old and small. The kitchen was ok, but had no mixing bowls. The bar stools are the wrong height. You can’t get your legs underneath, but then you are too far (high up) from the counter to get your food in your mouth. For the pluses, it was quiet. It was clean enough (but could use a deep cleaning and some paint). It was easy beach access. The balcony was nice. The parking was excellent. The price was reduced by $200 a week after we booked, but the real estate company wouldn’t reduce our rate. I might stay again, but not for what we paid.

This was a cute place. We had three young children. It was definitely a tight squeeze but we made it work. There is a door o separate the bunks from the main room which was good for us. However there is no railing on the bunks so bring your own. Several boogie boards and beach chairs were there already when we went. The chairs for the kitchen island are high but it would good for our small children- adults may find it uncomfortable. I liked that the property was located far enough from the stairs to deter noise but also not too far. Would stay again.

The condo was nice and clean and easy to access. The complex is older but in good shape. The pictures shown are what you get—not the link in the description that you can view. The pool was nice. The beach gets extremely crowded, especially on the weekend. We loved being able to walk to many restaurants and they weren’t very crowded.

I’d Book Again but Not Clean for Price

Location & amenities are good but the bathroom was disgusting & smelled foul. I had to go to the store and used half a bottle of scrubbing bubbles and a roll of paper towels to be able to tolerate the smell of the bathroom. The paper towels told the story of how dirty the toilet & bathroom were. The cleaning crew definitely put minimal effort into a very small space. The walls in the bathroom need wiped and grime built up in all the corners and baseboards would clean up easily with little effort. I definitely left the place cleaner then I found it. I would book again but hope they can raise their standards for the cleaning crew.

Our vacation rental was very clean and well kept. The location was so convenient to the beach and to the little shops and restaurants. The pool was clean and very kid friendly. I would definitely recommend and use this in the future. Overall the property management was very good to work with. The only negative is that when checking in the girl was not friendly and didn't provide good directions to get to the property. When I asked where do I go to get to the property the only direction provided was turn right out of the parking lot.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely! My daughters enjoyed the hallway bunk beds. We loved the barn doors, which enabled the bedroom to accommodate a king bed. Check-in and check-out process was super easy and convenient. The unit was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. We really liked the direct access to the beach and the pool. Several good restaurants in walking distance(Acme Low Country Kitchen is our favorite!). Loved sitting on the porch listening to the ocean at night! Great oceanfront property for a great price!

We arrived at dusk. Found it very difficult to locate our unit and where to park. We were disappointed that our unit could not go below 73 degrees, we like it on the cooler side. We picked our unit because of the king size bed, it was an average mattress at best. The unit had no area rugs and sand was everywhere! We rented to units for the trip and also had other family staying at the sea cabins. So we had the chance to see a few. We had the worst furniture the couch was dirty and again average to sit on. The pullout bed was awful!!!! My son felt the bar across his back! The tv was not high definition either. The porch was sticky most likely from how it was glued we were given the wrong access code to the beach and pool so that was fun.

We have been staying at the Sea Cabins for 37 years and this room was the best we've stayed in. The kitchen had all updated appliances and cabinetry but this unit has a king size bed. This is the first time we've stayed where they owner had a king bed instead of a full or queen. Loved the way they had the sliding doors to give the bedroom privacy while having the large bed. We would highly recommend this unit to everyone!

We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the rental. We loved having the king sized bed, just like we have at home so we were able to get decent sleep. Our 3yr old slept on the fold out couch an didn't complain. The table in front of the couch is wobbly so they may need to replace/repair that before someone breaks it. Also when we tried to sit on the deck we were swarmed by mosquitos, so sadly we did not spend much time out on the balcony.We enjoyed the furniture an all the kitchen amenities, so all in all it was great!

This is a nice unit. It has been nicely updated. The bed was very comfortable! The view is not as nice as the upper units however we preferred less stairs to get to the beach. It was so easy to get to the beach and pool! We would stay here again.

This cute quiet( you really couldn't hear anyone above you) rental is located within walking distance to grocery, restaurants etc.Kitchen has most everything you need (loved this for cooking purposes),comfy king bed,nice towels,enjoyed our deck (afternoons are shaded), the pier and pool. There are lots of hooks located in unit for hanging wet items.We had 2 adults and 2 college kids so kind of cramped. The sofa bed has VERY thin mattress(uncomfortable),bunk beds are same (no linens for them) deck needs to be cleaned (gum I'm assuming stuck on it in multiple places),a toaster and new kitchen garbage can would be helpful. There are laundry facilities on site but bring quarters! Be prepared for a late check in.They say it's 4pm but gives a window of 4-5:30, yet you have to be out at 10am sharp. We didn't get in until 5 and that's because I finally called the realty company.Overall we enjoyed our stay, the owner has tried to think of most needs and we would come back here. Definitely good for a couple or families with small children.

This is our second stay at Sea Cabins and many visits to Isle
of Palms/Charleston area. We have never had any problems until now. The lock box check-in was easy and convenient. However, we could not check-in on time because housekeeping was 45 minutes behind. We were told because of extra cleaning/precautions for Covid-19. Once we finally got in the cabin, we were disappointed. Immediately, we could see the floors were not clean and the unit did not have a fresh clean smell. I swept the floors numerous times and each time there was a pile of animal hair. The balcony needed to be cleaned because something was split on it and was sticky. Yes, we had fresh linens, paper products, clean bathroom and the beds were made, but you could see they didn’t take the time to fully clean the unit. Considering they were 45 minutes behind schedule, we expected better cleaning service. Overall, the unit is very nice and updated. We had everything we needed for our week stay.

This condo is beautiful. It has bunk beds built in the wall. Great for kids but very hot to sleep in. The air conditioner controls are set to not go below 70 degrees. I did not like that. I keep mine on 68 at home and I want the same comfort on vacation.

We had a fantastic experience at Sea Cabin 138 C. The check-in process were incredibly easy and she was very helpful when we asked random questions about the island such as grocery store locations, etc. Sea Cabin 138 C is on the first floor. Therefore, it was extremely convenient to carry all of our luggage in. The only downfall to the first floor is that you really do not have an ocean view at all. You ONLY can see the parking lot, which was kinda a let down since it is advertised as an ocean view room. We made it to our door only to find two bags of trash left there. The wind had threw it all around. We picked it up but we were not very happy about that. Inside the condo, it was much cleaner. The floors definitely could have used being swept and/or mopped. Our socks were ruined because of how filthy the floors were. Everything else though was very clean. This condo is in a perfect location. It is within walking distance of several restaurants and shops which we took advantage of. Overall, our experience here was wonderful! We would definitely recommend Sea Cabins to anyone!

Sea Cabins was everything & more than we expected! Great location, always something to do in the area & we even had an alligator visit us in the parking lot. Got to watch Animal Control capture him & safely return him to a better home. (Good job guys!)
Cabin could have been a little cleaner-hair & dust in the floors. Deck carpet needs to be replaced- burn marks on it. Paint peeling off of rocking chair & paint chips got everywhere. Refridgerator needs an ice maker.
We Loved the deck furniture!!! Bed was very comfortable. The kitchen island was much better than a table. The counter beside the refridgerator was very helpful.
We met some interesting people from lots of different states. Right on the Beach. Best place to stay if coming to Isle of Palms!

We stay at the Sea Cabins at least twice a year and typically stay in Building #1. This property appears to need some remodeling. The furniture was worn and several places needed new paint. There was also a bad odor when you entered the unit that was not related to garbage, etc. I plan to request Building 1 from now on.

Second time this year stayed at Sea cabins at isle of palms. The unit that we were in needed attention. By that I mean we had to put sheets on the living room furniture due to nasty stains that needed to be cleaned or replaced. Tub facuet was anchored to the tub moved 3 inches away from tub wall. Building C had water standing under it. Smell was musty, green and black fungi growing. Even the food washing station and step were covered with green fungi. By the way the tub facuet knows had black mold behind them. Outside grounds not been kept up steps and showers sand build up needs removal of built up sand.(leaf blower). My stay in build A in May was flawless.

I had a very positive experience with the property management company. Very easy to check in and due to the door having a code instead of keys all we had to do was leave. No stopping and the office. A couple things to mention regarding the unit - there was a very strange odor we could not get rid of. We had to go buy some plug ins to put in the hallway and bathroom. The unit was adorable and the furniture at one time in the living was probably very nice. I feel like at the beginning of a busy season maybe the furniture should have been professionally cleaned. The location was perfect and the unit was great for the two of us. Very nice upgrades. Unfortunately (and this is no one's fault) we had very noisy people above us that stayed up late every night. I think one night maybe a child fell out of the bunk beds in the hallway. Lots of noise and feet pounding the floor. Also, they played their music very loud - we were really happy when they checked out one day before us and we got a nice quiet evening to rest before out drive back to Cincinnati.

The cabin was just what we expected. We have stayed at the Sea Cabins many times over the years, we like that it is in the beach and close to Charleston is always a quiet and relaxing place. I don fish but I enjoy the pier. A great place to watch sunrises.

I have been renting through Island Realty at least once a year and appreciate the staff's helpfulness and professionalism each time. I usually stay in a house on IOP but thought I'd try a Sea Cabin this visit with it's great location. Unfortunately the unit needs a thorough top to bottom cleaning, corners, under furniture, etc. Although it's has been partially updated (flooring, stove, backsplash,island, flat screen TV), at some point it could use more updating (all original trim and molding should either be replaced or washed down thoroughly and painted). The kitchen is in need of additional items (a carving knife, more than 2 teaspoons, and more than 1 wineglass). I found a few cups and dishes needed cleaning (probably not used in a long time). The white sofa could use a good cleaning or cover. I realize that this is a frequent rental and it's not easy to keep it in top notch condition, but I expected a Deluxe (and clean) unit as described online but was definitely disappointed for Deluxe rate I paid for my stay. I'm sure I'll have better luck next year!

Everything was coordinated with the reality company and payment - which was nice. However, I was disappointed that we could not see the ocean from our balcony - I think it was described as "ocean view". I was also disappointed that the bedroom was so small and there was no queen bed. The linens were also old and warn. The couch was also very uncomfortable. The pictures need updating in the bedroom also. Sorry- but I was disappointed with just about everything about the room.

Great condo for our family of four (including 2 children). Perfect location to beach, pool, pier, shopping, restaurants. Bunk beds are a plus for young ones (top bunk hard to get up and down). Only suggestions are adding some type of bunk ladder and definitely adding black-out curtains in bedroom. Light fixture on outside walkway made it hard to sleep. Pluses were the balcony chairs and several towel hooks. I would choose this condo for a return stay.

My wife and I were in need of a short get away. This place hit the spot. It was clean and nicely decorated. The only suggestion I have is there needs to be a black out shade in the bedroom to block the light from the hallway.

I love staying at Sea Cabin. The condo was great and had everything you needed. Bed was very comfortable. View wasn't the best but staying on first floor was totally worth not taking all the stairs. Love the chairs on balcony . Very nice and comfortable. The only problem we had was the tv had a bad reception . I believe it could have just been a loose wire because if my son held it the picture was fine. I would highly recommend staying here!

We love the Low Country! Especially love the Isle of Palms Sea Cabins! They are a perfect fit for our beach vacation, and we love the private pier and code for the beach and pool access and of course, the Charleston area in general.

We were on first floor and for the first 3 days, we had a Chinese family above us. They had 2 children that went non-stop (they apparently had something wrong with them (ADHD or something of that nature) and the parents didn't stop them in any way. They ran back and forwards through the condo until 3:00 or after in the morning. They were horrible tenants! We got no rest, day or night, unless we were gone or on the beach! we went there to rest and relax. I never want to come back to this rental site. Finally on the 3rd day we called to complain, only to be told they would be leaving that day. We were thrilled when they were gone. The rental is far from sound proof. Because of my disability we got a room on first floor (I have problems with stairs). Will not do that again!

We had a great time at the Isle of Palms. Our room was very nicely updated. We love the access to beach, pier, pool & local places to shop & eat. We love eating at Sullivan's not only the awesome but Mama D is the sweetest person. We also have to eat at Shem Creek Grill everytime we are in the area.Everything about the trip was superb!!

This condo is in a great location and was clean. Only negative was the mattresses need replacing, very uncomfortable. Wifi very bad, but beach and location very nice.

The Sea Cabin complex is older but the location is right on the beach and convenient with stores and restaurants within walking distance. Unit 138C is a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The bathroom and kitchen appliances need to be updated.

We had a great time at Sea Cabin's last week. The location was perfect. We were walking distance to food, ice cream, and a grocery store. We took a drive to Sullivan's Island a few times. The sunset there was beautiful. Some nice restaurants on Sullivan's too.

As we understand, the unit is under new ownership. With that being said, the owner provided us with free beach equipment rental for a day which we really appreciated and enjoyed. The outdoor furniture was very nice. To make the stay more enjoyable, we suggest that the owner add ceiling fans in the bedroom and on the balcony. In the den some type of coffee table or ottoman would make it more comfortable. The unit is tastefully decorated, but the cabinets and appliances are in need of updating. Island Realty was terrific, even when we forgot our code to the unit.

property was well located but not the quality of what I had rented before.
Comcast was scheduled and worked in our condo for half a day during our stay which meant we could not fix our lunch or rest midday. Also the office called our home phone rather than our cell phone so we had no idea until we found the condo unlocked and men working that anyone was in there.
We were leaving the next day so why this work was not scheduled when the unit was empty did not make sense. Very disappointed with the way this handled.

Condo was fine except: bathroom doors won't stay closed, TV/DVD has no instructions and the sound wouldn't work half the time. Internet was sporadic. Pool was great. Beach was too crowded to enjoy in that area (public access and public parking right beside the condos).

Answer:

All Sea Cabins in the 100s (ex. this unit is 138) will be on the first floor. 200s on the 2nd, and 300s on the 3rd.

What is your cancellation policy?

Answer:

You can cancel your reservation; however, you will not get a refund unless the property is re-rented for the same dates and rate as your reservation.

Island Realty has a 10% cancellation fee, and the remainder of your deposit is held pending the re-rental of the property.

If you are paid in full for the reservation, all money will be held until we can re-rent the property. If the property is not re-booked, the entire balance will be forfeited to Island Realty, regardless of whether or not a full deposit was made at the time of booking.

Purchasing travel insurance may help with a reimbursement if cancellation is prompted by an extenuating circumstance. Read more about travel insurance HERE.
