The house was great and in a superb location. It was clean and set up very well for vacationing by our multigenerational family who loves to beach and cook. All the outdoor spaces including a grass area were well used and appreciated. The ground level bathroom with shower was a delightful and welcome surprise.
The only issue we had was the refrigerator that was not cooling properly, so my husband made a service call on Monday (a holiday). They brought a second fridge and it had to be placed in the dining area, blocking part of the views and restricting full access and usability of the dining table. It was a bit of an eyesore in the beautiful main area. They told us they would contact us when a service tech would come out, we never heard back and the fridge in the dining area stayed there the entirety of our visit.

Four couples have been gathering for a weekend together for 37 years( we girls went to college together) and we've rented lots of houses.This IOP house was definitely one of the best.The location is ideal--not a long drive to the north end of the island.The bedding and furniture was comfortable and attractive,and the kitchen was probably the best equipped we've ever seen. The bathrooms were small, but adequate and up to date.We would certainly rent this property again.

It was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed every minute of it. We have stayed in this home 3 times now and from then to this new remodel is absolutely fantastic. The new kitchen and dining area and the new furnishings on both porches makes it the ideal home. The proximity to the beach. The beauty of the house. But the new remodel of the kitchen is heavenly and had every piece of kitchen equipment that was perfect. I cannot say enough about this house. We have been staying on the IOP and many Beachside Community homes for about 20 plus years. Sometimes we have stayed for months in the winter. This home far surpasses the other homes we have stayed in. We made many memories renting from Island Realty and will make many more in the future.

After many trips to IOP, we have found what we think is quite a gem! Lovely inside, lovely out. reasonably priced. An excellent property, with also quite a good Leasing Company. This is the best vacation rental our group of 4 couples has ever stayed in. The location is amazing. Beautiful view of ocean with all windows on 2 sides of main room. Very quiet neighborhood. No neighbors on one side. Everything we needed and more. Very clean. Many chairs to relax in, inside and out. We enjoyed the indoor porch in early February. Very comfortable beds. I highly recommend this vacation home!

We couldn't have been more thrilled with this beautiful home. The renovations were amazing. The house was so clean and inviting. There were extra things provided that one could use if needed. This included much silverware, cookware, and glasses. There is a brand new fridge a wonderful cooktop and other essentials to add to your stay. The view of the beach was superb and the wonderful porch and deck allowed you to enjoy the air even when the weather wasn't ideal. Our family of 5 was comfortable. We managed to complete 3 of the many puzzles provided and used the deck of cards for entertainment. I felt safe and comfortable there. I would certainly come to this property again, give these comments and the wonderful service provided by the owner representative and maintenance service. Enjoy this stay!

This house is gorgeous and the best appointed kitchen ever. Baths have been renovated. Mattresses are terrific! Just a wonderful house! I’d love the building specs!!

Then there’s the access to the beach and the views. Honestly unmatched. And the lower level is 100% useable with a swing and chairs and picnic table and, best of all, charm!

But, the lower level decking is rotting in several areas. I stepped through a board on day one. Rather than the ongoing patching, the whole flooring needs replaced.

The sun room windows and screens are in need of major repair. The sunroom is difficult to cool during the day because of the current design.

Lastly, and this is the only reason I would not be able to stay here again; we had two encounters with large water moccasin/cotton mouth snakes. The first was at a distance and probably due to the undeveloped and breathtaking dunes next to the house. The second encounter was much too close for comfort. With a very large snake under the deck stairs next to the outdoor shower. My daughter was washing the sand off my toddler grandson. Luckily, she is quite knowledgable about deadly southern snakes.

While it is impossible to control wildlife, it is possible to mitigate risk and two unanswered texts to Island Realty regarding the situation were disconcerting. The deck flooring (which is already rotting) needs fully removed to ensure no snakes are bedding underneath.

We did need to call maintenance for AC repair on our first night. The AC repairman was very rude when he was asked to wear a mask due to our unvax’d 1 year old grandson. And by very rude, I mean extremely rude.

Sofa’s need replaced. Or at least cleaned. But I chalked that up to end of season wear and tear.

“Meant To Be” is a great ocean front getaway! We luckily found this house very last minute for a mid-May vacation and I’m so glad we did. It’s location and charm make for a relaxing beach vacation. The interior is updated throughout, with a nice kitchen and 4 updated baths. The views are amazing and even the palmetto tree placement by the deck is smart. You can sit on the deck in the morning and have both sunshine and shade and the ocean breeze. Loved it. The house feels tucked away, with an angled driveway and no house immediately to your left (thus the great view) so there’s a bit of privacy too. I also want to add that Island Realty was super responsive to our needs. We discovered that our freezer was not cold enough to ‘keep’ ice, so we called and they came out the same day (on a Sunday) and brought us a freezer chest the very next morning. All was good - ice for drinks and plenty of ice cream and popsicles. It was our first visit to IOP and we loved it and plan to visit again. Thank you! PS-the WIFI works great, so working remotely is a breeze.

We had the best time and the location could not be beat. Being beachfront is amazing and watching the sunrise through the huge windows with coffee was one of the best parts of our day. The house could use some updates in the bathrooms and but the kitchen is BEAUTIFUL and modern and there was plenty of seating for everyone between the bar and the table. Beds were comfortable and there was space for everyone to spread out in their own rooms when needed. Love this house! So many special memories made with our family.

Was so surprised by the house. We just wanted to be on the water but the photo didn’t look so great. All we wanted was 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. This house was beautiful, comfortable and far more than we needed. The only suggestion I would have is that the bathrooms could use some updating but not really needed. The landscaping could not have been prettier and the ocean view was perfect. If I could live in this house I would! Had a hard time leaving it. I know God wants me to live there. ��

Had a great Fall Break visit to IOP at Sand Dune 13! The main reason I chose this property was that it was located directly on the beach. The trade-off was that we could rent a house a block away with a pool for a similar price, but I wanted to give staying directly on the beach a try. My kids really enjoyed being on the beach as we could go back and forth to the house throughout the day (i.e. go inside for lunch or a short break). The beach very clean and not crowded and was mostly older folks or families. I felt very safe and was comfortable letting my teenage kids go to the beach by themselves since we could watch them from the deck. This house is located about 20-25 from Charleston which we visited several times. The local IOP restaurants were within walking distance but were often crowded so we drove about 10 minutes to Mt Pleasant where they had more restaurants that seemed a higher quality.
The house itself was clean but seemed a little worn - it wasn't bad at all but might bother those looking for perfection at this price point. 4 large bedrooms were plenty of space for our family of 6 kids. The view of the ocean was great through the large windows toward the rear of the house. I really enjoyed getting up before the kids and watching the sunrise on the deck with my coffee...very relaxing! I would definitely stay here again.

Island Realty took very good care of us during the terrific hurricane they incurred one week upon our arrival. The location of this property cannot be beaten! It is like having your own private beach. The house itself needs a bit of love, though. The fabrics are looking tired and a bit dirty, and the fittings need updating, especially in the kitchen and the bathrooms.

This was am absolutely awesome house. We have stayed at many houses on Sand Dune Lane, this was by far our favorite. House was ready early on our arrival day and superbly clean. We stay at a lot of rental homes and this is the best stocked house we've ever stayed at! Kitchen was especially well stocked, everything you might need. All the furniture was comfortable and we especially enjoyed the awesome porches! Loved the porch swing and hammock. Rental company was easy to work with. Plenty of room for everyone and an easy walk to the beach. Great location, short walk to shops and restaurants. There, however, was not a pull out sofa,as mentioned on the website, but that did not present a problem for us. Would absolutely rent this house again!

This was our second stay at this beautiful house & again, we had a very enjoyable time. Everything was in great shape & no problems with anything. You cannot beat the spectacular view of this waterfront home and we hope to rent the same house again for next year.

This house was very well designed for several families. A bathroom for each bedroom is very nice. The outdoor, under the house amenities were great. The large living space, and beautiful panoramic views of the beach was a plus as well. Very nice house!

My dream of being on the front beach came true. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. Loved the swing and hammock under the house. All my family wants to come back regularly. House has everything we need. Great having king size beds in 3 of the bedrooms, and bathrooms for all.

We love the location. Overall condition is good. However, the property furnishings are getting "tired." Whirlpool bath in front bedroom is in terrible shape. Porch is in good shape but nails are not flush with the boards, making it dangerous for bare feet. I reported this issue a year ago.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful time at this house. It is in a great location that offers great privacy yet it is convenient to the commercial areas of Isle of Palms. We took both golf cart and bike rides to the grocery store and restaurants. Beach area in front of house was very private. At times, we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. House has a great floorpan and was very well maintained. Overall a great experience and we would rent the same house again without hesitation! Island Realty is a great company!

This was the perfect house for our family. It was our first visit to the Isle of Palms and what a wonderful time we had. The house had absolutely perfect views of the ocean and was beautiful, as well as very comfortable. We do plan to return again and hopefully will get to stay in this amazing house again.

Six girlfriends from 50 years ago gathered at this lovely house. We were delighted with the layout and the location. House is very comfortable and well-equipped. Overall very good. We love the location.I did send an email to Island Realty however to advie of a couple of things. The decking(which appears new) has multiple(hundreds) of nail heads stick up above the deck.This needs to be taken care of before someone rips a foot open.This will become worse with time and someone will require stitches if not corrected.Nailheads are sticking up as high as 1/4" in places. While there, the washer was not working at all.

The location was excellent, the check-in and check-out process was a breeze. The house was lovely, with a few minor issues: Need a new cooktop! Dated with uneven burners, making cooking a little difficult. Furniture in living area was soiled...hire someone to clean it occasionally. We needed extra pillows. There are several in the closets but NO pillow cases to put on them! Some mold in showers...eeewww! Lifted a blind in the master bath that had obviously not been lifted in years...found dead bees and tons of dust. Just want to bring these things to your attention...they are minor, but if they had not existed I would have given a 5 star rating on condition and cleanliness of the home. We would come back.

We loved the house, and we're very picky travelers. The location is one of the best on the island, immediatelty on the and vast dunes views because it's basically set on a corner of the street. The pictures in the description are definitelty NOT 'posed' to look better than the property is; in fact, we found that the actual place was much better than we saw online :)

VERY thoughtfully appointed, you seriously don't need to bring anything other than food. From ziploc baggies to coozies to wine opener to serving dishes: everything is here already.

WONDERFUL vacation!
