Play with your Pup!

We recently wrote on our property management expert series blog about the decision to make a vacation rental pet-friendly or not. Due to Isle of Palms' favorable leash laws, many vacation rental owners do choose to make their rental properties pet-friendly. This is great news for travelers who can't imagine leaving their furry friends at home! 

If you are coming to Isle of Palms with a pup, and hopefully staying at an Island Realty pet-friendly rental, here's all the information you need on where and when you can take your pooch to play. 

When can dogs be on the beach off-leash? 
September 15 - March 31: Dogs may be on the beach off-leash from 4:00 pm - 10:00 am. Dog owners must have leash in hand, have the dog under voice command, and be responsible for cleaning up any waste. 
April 1 - September 14: Dogs may be on the beach off-leash from 5:00 am - 9:00 am. Dog owners must have leash in hand, have the dog under voice command, and be responsible for cleaning up any waste. 
Dogs are allowed on the beach outside of these hours, provided they are on their leash and under complete control, even in the water. 

Is there another place where I can take my dog to play off-leash? 
Yes! There is a dog park located behind the Isle of Palms Recreation Department at 24 28th Avenue. The Bark Park is open sunrise to sunset and dogs aged four months and older are welcome to play off-leash as long as their owner is nearby.
