Celebrate the 4th of July in Charleston

With Independence Day right around the corner,

it's time to figure out your holiday plans! The Charleston area, Isle of Palms, and Sullivan's Island all have various activities to celebrate the holiday. Whether you want to watch fireworks from the USS Yorktown or keep it more "low-key" and enjoy the show on the beach, the Charleston area is the perfect spot to celebrate with your family and friends. 


4th of July Blast at Patriots Point

Where: Patriots Point | 40 Patriots Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464

Enjoy a spectacular fireworks show accompanied by live music on the Charleston Harbor! Celebrate one of the year's biggest celebrations at the USS Yorktown on Patriots Point. With one of the best views of Charleston Harbor, you are guaranteed to have a unique and memorable experience!

Details:
  • Unlike years past, there will be NO landside activities this year
  • The access to the USS Yorktown flight deck will open at 6:00 p.m. 
  • Fireworks start at sundown, typically around 9:30 p.m.
  • Live entertainment and music will start at 5:00 p.m. 
  • Parking is limited and will cost $20 per vehicle
  • $95 Tickets for the fireworks show from the flight deck are currently on sale on EVENTBRITE.
Sandlapper Fourth of July Sunset & Fireworks Cruise

Where: Charleston Maritime Center | 10 Wharfside St. Charleston, SC

Sandlapper Water Tours, one of Island Realty's premier vendors, is excited to offer an exclusive 4th of July experience that allows passengers to partake in the holiday fun from the water. Hop aboard Sandlapper Water Tours' 45-foot Corinthian Catamaran, "The Palmetto," for a sunset tour of Charleston's historic harbor. As the sun sets, The Palmetto will make its way to Patriots Point to join the crowds gathering to watch the legendary fireworks show.

  • The cruise will run from 7:30-10:00 PM

4th of July Fireworks at Front Beach

Where: Front Beach | Isle of Palms, SC

Get the best of both worlds – the beach and a fireworks show! Not in the mood to go anywhere? Some of the area's best fireworks are where you are staying, the beach! Enjoy the fireworks this Independence Day off of Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island with other guests and locals in the area. For more information, visit the City of Isle of Palms website.  

Details:

  • Paid parking is available at the Municipal Parking Lots on Pavilion Drive

  • The beach between 21st Avenue to 3rd Avenue at Sea Cabins will close at 6:30 p.m. for setup

  • Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m. in the front beach area

  • This event is free and open to the public

4th of July Celebration on Sullivan's Island

Where: Stith Park | Sullivan's Island, SC

Start your day with a golf cart and bike parade that kicks off a whole day of festivities. Play games with the Sullivan's Island Fire Department or sit back and listen to music - played live by the Shem Creek Boogie Band, with fireworks starting at dark. Read the full details HERE.

  • The parade route begins at Sunrise Presbyterian Church and ends at Sullivan's Island Elementary School.

  • Those participating is the best-decorated cart/bike need to register at Town Hall from Monday, June 17 through Wednesday, July 3.

  • Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m.

  • Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket to sit on

  • This event is free and open to the public

4th of July Riverdogs Game

Where: Joseph P. Riley Park | 360 Fishburne Street, Charleston, SC

Celebrate the Fourth by attending any of the three RiverDogs home games happening that weekend. Thursday's game will include a post-game fireworks show. Friday night The RiverDogs will shine a spotlight on active duty and retired military members by wearing their brand-new red alternates on the field. Saturday's game will Honor and celebrate Veterans and active-duty service members. Learn more HERE.

  • Games are on July 4th, 5th, and 6th

Seaside Sparks at Wild Dunes

Where: Wild Dunes | Grand Pavilion Beachfront

View the Isle of Palms' fireworks show from Wild Dunes! Set against the backdrop of the shimmering Atlantic, this exclusive event offers the perfect vantage point for an up-close and awe-inspiring experience of fireworks. 

Details:

  • Fireworks begin at sundown

  • $50 per ticket (Ages 3 and up) can be bought HERE.

  • Each ticket includes two beach chairs
